3 Cups Drawing

In my 3 cups drawing I was supposed to deomonstrate my understanding of the ¨4 Basics of Composittion¨ 10/31/17

I like the bottle of glue.

Line quality drawing

In this line quality drawing I used an Ebony pencil for the first time. At the top of the page I made a full value scale using the Ebony pencil.

Still life

I really love the objects I chose in this still life drawing. The bottle is my favorite thing because of the cap and the way the label looks on it. Something else that I really like is the reflection of the flute on the head of the figure. The base of the figure isn't done very well and doesn't sit on the counter the way it should.

One point perspective

In this one point perspective, I chose to do a temple. I worked really hard on trying to give it a comfy look by surrounding it with trees but I started to get frustrated and rushed which led to the trees looking odd and weird. My favorite thing in this drawing would have to be the bridge and the lines on the base of the tree. The bridges left and right sides shading is a little off and is not completely symmetrical. Next time I get the chance to do a One point  I´ll have to work on making it as precise as possible. Getting the top of the temple was difficult and took many tries to get it looking as similar to the image as I could. This was a really fun place to draw.

Self portrait

My self portrait is of me in my room. I tried my best to get all of my face features in the correct place. I really like the background of my room but I think I could of done a better job of making it in 2 point perspective. I think the astronaut is pretty cool. Overall I think that the sketch is alright.

2 point perspective

I didn't use a reference photo for my 2 point perspective and am really glad I didn't. I used a regular pencil which I think caused the dark values to fade really quickly. I worked really hard on the house and  think it turned out alright. This drawing is something I really enjoyed doing. Something that I think needs a little work is the book.

Charcoal

We did a charcoal drawing to try it out. I personally prefer the graphite pencils because I feel that its easier to control. I havent had much experience with charcoal pencils though so that might be it too. The white charcoal is really cool to use though. My astronaut ended up looking alright but there were spots where I didn't use the charcoal correctly and they didn't blend very well.
